Ollie Pope has enjoyed an incredible season for Surrey, that saw him earn an England Test call-up.
Despite only making his first-class debut for Surrey halfway through the 2017 Championship season, Pope was one of the most impressive players at the start of the 2018 campaign.
In the first game of the season, Pope scored his second first-class century against Hampshire, and followed that up with 158* against an impressive Yorkshire side to rescue Surrey’s innings.
His dogged performances with the bat earned him a place in the Joe Root’s England side, and his debut came at Lord’s against India.
Returning to the Surrey side after International duty, Pope helped Surrey confirm their Championship Title with a mature innings against Worcestershire. 986 runs in just 16 innings leaves Pope with the incredible average of 70.42.
HIGHLIGHT OF THE SEASON: Pope scored 158 not out at home to Yorkshire, steering Surrey from 69-4 to 414 all out.
